Since 2010, we have traveled throughout the U.S. west during the winters while our family holds down the fort at home. Besides traveling, I'm into reading and genealogy. Brad loves rock collecting, water sports and old cars, especially his 1971 Mustang which he has owned since 1978. We both love to hike, cycle, kayak and obviously travel especially in the southwest desert.
We spent our honeymoon in California in 1982, returned to Utah, Arizona, Nevada and California again in 1987 for three weeks in an RV and said "we HAVE to do this again". It took us over 20 years, but we finally made it back to Arizona in 2008 (but not in an RV), and Utah in 2009 (again no RV). It broke our hearts both times to have to return home. When the opportunity arose for us to retire, we decided that this is where we wanted to spend our winters - in the southwestern deserts of Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, New Mexico and California.
If you look at the maps of Canada and the United States in the right margin (if viewing the web version on a computer, not on a mobile device), I have coloured the provinces and states we have visited, but only if we have spent some time there and seen at least one attraction or park. Obviously, we drive through many states to get to our destinations, but I don't include these in our "States Visited" map.
Many of the eastern provinces and states we have visited prior to retirement and owning an RV.
